Use new technologies to save energy and lower your business costs!

As an Ontario farmer you want your energy dollars to go as far as possible. And as a dairy farmer this is even more important as electricity can cost you tens of thousands of dollars annually.  Improving energy-efficiency and conservation is the best way to reduce these costs and improve profits.
A recent study by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs found that individual farms had the potential to save more than $2,000 annually with energy-management and technology improvements. Lighting and fans (exhaust and re-circulation) together accounted for more than 80 percent of possible savings. Depending on the specific conditions at each farm, savings ranged from five per cent to 80 per cent.
Almost all the farms studied could benefit financially in some way by just improving their lighting efficiency. The average potential savings was around $1,500 per farm.
You already know that electricity management plays an integral role in good farm management and that electricity savings are abundantly available no matter how or where you farm. Your local electric utility has new opportunities to help you reach those goals with financial incentives that will go directly to improving your bottom line
